Trump Hits Chuck Todd Over North Korea Comments: We Haven't Give Up Anything

President Donald Trump on Sunday hit out at NBC host Chuck Todd over North Korea, after the Meet the Press moderator commented the U.S. had got little from negotiations with North Korea.

POTUS had clearly tuned in to the Sunday morning show, lashing out at Todd in a tweet in which he said the U.S. had not given anything up and that the work he was doing on North Korea “should have been done a long time ago.”

“Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd of Fake News NBC just stated that we have given up so much in our negotiations with North Korea, and they have given up nothing. Wow, we haven’t given up anything & they have agreed to denuclearization (so great for World), site closure, & no more testing!” Trump tweeted.

“....We are a long way from conclusion on North Korea, maybe things will work out, and maybe they won’t - only time will tell....But the work I am doing now should have been done a long time ago!” he added.

The president’s comments come in the wake of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Friday announcing a halt to nuclear weapons and ballistic missile tests, also pledging to close a nuclear facility in the country's north.

Trump has tweeted in praise of Kim’s move over the weekend, but reacted with irritation when his view did not appear to be shared by TV host Todd, who appeared to remain skeptical about North Korea.

Kim is “making it seem like he’s giving a lot” despite not doing so, Todd said on the Sunday show, although he did acknowledge that the tone of the statement from the North Korean leader was a positive development Mediaite reported.

However, despite pledging to cease nuclear weapons and ballistic missile tests, Kim has made no promises that the country will denuclearize altogether.
