Jenna Ellis has moved to distance herself from remarks made by prominent Georgia attorney Lin Wood after his recent comments garnered widespread criticism.
Ellis is an attorney for President Donald Trump's campaign and has worked on challenging the result of the 2020 presidential election, as has Wood. But Ellis disavowed Wood's recent remarks about Vice President Mike Pence in a tweet late on Friday.
"To be clear: I do not support the statements from Attorney Lin Wood. I support the rule of law and the U.S. Constitution," Ellis wrote.

Though she did not specify which exact statements she was referring to, it later become clear her tweet was prompted by a post Wood wrote on January 1.
"When arrests for treason begin, put Chief Justice John Roberts, VP Mike Pence @VP @Mike_Pence & Mitch McConnell @senatemajldr at top of list," Wood tweeted.
In response to a comment from another social media user, Wood said: "If Pence is arrested, @SecPompeo will save the election. Pence will be in jail awaiting trial for treason. He will face execution by firing squad. He is a coward & will sing like a bird & confess ALL."
Wood replied to Ellis on Twitter on Saturday, saying: "I support the rule of law and the U.S. Constitution too, Jenna @JennaEllisEsq. I was fighting for both 7 years before you were born. I fight for TRUTH too. Truth always prevails. You do support that statement, don't you, Jenna?"
Ellis responded, sharing a screenshot of Wood's "firing squad" tweet. She added: "What about this statement is supporting the rule of law, the Constitution, or the truth?" Wood did not appear to have answered her at the time of writing.
Wood's tweets about Pence on January 1 were part of a thread in which he accused the Democratic Party of conspiring with the Chinese Communist Party, foreign nations and others in order to steal the 2020 presidential election for President-elect Joe Biden.
"We have also learned that the Globalists like George Soros & the Elitists like Bill Gates were involved. CIA too (no surprise - military industrial complex)," Wood said. "It all seemed so clear we overlooked one of the main participants in the theft of the election: THE REPUBLICANS."
Wood also made headlines this week by claiming on Twitter that deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was still alive.
Legal attempts, including those made by Wood, to overturn the results of the 2020 election have been overwhelmingly unsuccessful. Some Republicans are planning to object to ratification of the Electoral College votes on January 6 and could force votes on the issue. Pence will preside over the process as part of his constitutional duties.
