Video: Stephen Colbert Lays Into Fox News Host Tucker Carlson—'A Little Racist Who Could'
Comedian and The Late Show presenter Stephen Colbert took aim at Fox News host Tucker Carlson Wednesday night, mocking his recent comments on immigration.
Noting Carlson's previous assertion that admitting "the world's poor" into the U.S. could make the country "poorer, dirtier and more divided," Colbert accused the host of continuing to push "racist" rhetoric.

"Tucker got a lot of heat for those remarks, but he's nothing if not a little racist who could," Colbert said Wednesday night. "[Carlson] came chugging back up that hill on Monday with a new reason he doesn't like immigrants: he just cares so darn much about the environment."
Colbert then showed a clip from Monday's Tucker Carlson Tonight, in which the host blamed "illegal immigrants" for covering "huge swathes" of America's natural landscape in garbage.
"Have you seen the desert after Coachella? I don't hear Tucker calling to deport a bunch of Forever 21-wearing white girls named Blake," Colbert remarked.
The comedian then criticized the Fox News host's choice to cover a supposed "War on Christmas" Tuesday night, instead of the ongoing legal saga surrounding President Donald Trump's former national security advisor Michael Flynn. Carlson "was hitting the hard news" on Tonight, Colbert quipped.
"The war on Christmas is a global struggle," Carlson had told the audience that evening. "In the parliament of Scotland...the coffee shop has stopped selling gingerbread men."
Carlson blamed the decision on political correctness surrounding concerns that the cookies are gender-specific. "You don't even want to know how many bathrooms there are in gingerbread houses now," he said. "A lot."
Colbert mocked Carlson's remarks, pointing out that houses typically only have gender-neutral bathrooms. "You do not have one for men and one for women," the comedian added. "You have one for company and one for pooping."
Carlson then brought on Fox News contributor Tammy Bruce—or as Colbert quipped, a "cookie gender expert"—who criticized calling a gingerbread man a "gingerbread person" when "obviously they're men."
"Obviously they're men. I mean just look at them," Colbert joked, before showing an image of a gingerbread man with what appeared to be pixelated male genitalia.
In a Carlson-inspired world where all food is gendered—in which fruit by the foot is male and bread female, for example—Colbert said the Fox News host would be "the tainted cookie dough that got recalled for salmonella poisoning."
