Twitter Is Losing It Over Robert Pattinson's Hair In 'The King' Trailer

While Timothée Chalamet was the main attraction — the king, as it were — of the trailer for Netflix's new film, The King, it was Robert Pattinson's appearance, namely, Pattisinon's hair's appearance that had Twitter freaking out.

On Tuesday, Netflix released the trailer for the period drama, which stars Chalamet as the English monarch Henry V, who reluctantly ascends to the throne following the death of his father. The film is an adaptation of William Shakespeare's Henriad, a collection of the playwright's historical plays.

Pattinson makes a very quick appearance in the trailer—in full armor and long, blond hair. The surprise wasn't Pattinson himself (he was previously announced as the film's villain) but it was his appearance. Many fans were quick to note that the hair has to be a wig or weave because the 33-year-old actor has recently been photographed with short hair. But that didn't quell the enthusiasm.

Pattinson, who stars as the French Dauphin in the film, wears his hair in a light brunette "lob"— a "long bob" which falls just above his shoulders.

For the Twilight fans on Twitter, Pattinson's appearance induced serious nostalgia and even overshadowed — though only slightly — Chalamet's bowl cut. Though Pattinson's latest character is no Edward Cullen, it is taking fans right back to his 2008-level stardom.

@AmyLStockwell tweeted on Tuesday, "Robert Pattinson really thinks he can come crawling back into my life after my twilight stage just cus he's got a role with long hair? Correct come right in."

"I will see The King for Timothée Chalamet's bowl cut and Robert Pattinson's wig alone," one Twitter user on said on Wednesday. Another said, "Dear Netflix, release the character poster of Robert Pattinson with his long hair and watch the internet explode. #TheKing"

Several people compared Pattinson's long hair to actor Jackson Rathbone, who co-starred alongside Pattinson in the Twilight supernatural romance film series.

Rathbone commented on Tuesday on the comparison on Twitter, writing: "Bruh is jacking my style..."

Since the trailer dropped, Twitter has also been buzzing about and swooning over the film's all-star cast in general. One twitter user said, "Timothée Chalamet with a bowl cut and English accent is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen." Even Vogue tweeted on Tuesday, "@RealChalamet is the ultimate Shakespearean thirst trap."
