Two Golden Retrievers Engaged in 'Romeo and Juliet Romance' Are Melting Hearts Online

"O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore bark thou Romeo?" is no doubt what a golden retriever in this viral video was shouting down to another dog on the terrace way below.

In footage, shared on TikTok by an account called Pawdrey, we can see the adorable dog looking down at a similar pet below, and the scene has been dubbed a "Romeo and Juliet romance."

The clip, which has been watched 11.2 million times, shows Audrey looking out the window, then cuts to her on a balcony looking down on a similar-looking canine who is eyeing her several floors below.

The moment is reminiscent of an iconic scene from William Shakespeare's 16th century play "Romeo and Juliet," about two star-crossed lovers.

The sweet moment, which can be viewed here, is captioned: "Should they meet? #goldenretriever #fyp #lovestory #puppylove."

Since the video was shared on September 18, it has gained 2.7 million likes.

Additionally, more than 7,700 people have rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts on the blossoming romance.

One TikTok user, Tumbleweed88, wrote: "Uh do you know what happens in Romeo and Juliet?"

Another person, User7486436091526, added: "My dog would 100% jump over that ledge. I have zero faith in him anymore."

And luckily for those invested in the duo's love, Pawbrey made a second part a day later when the two animals were finally introduced.

The video, which is set to the song "Love Story" by Taylor Swift, starts with Aubrey being directed down the corridor on a leash and then into a lift.

Outside the excited pet is then confronted with Bruno, her furry love interest, and they leap up to greet each other over the fence.

The two are then filmed playing together in the sunshine and the clip, which can be watched here, ends with a cute snap of the pair in an autumnal setting.
