Ubisoft created a thread on the company's forums to keep gamers updated with new information as the situation progressed. Two updates were issued since the thread was created, the first explaining that DDoS attacks were fairly common for online service providers; the second, released just minutes before the time of this article's publishing, said Ubisoft was still monitoring the situation.

Based on reports from users both in the forum thread and on Twitter, it seems like logging into Uplay is a difficult process. People who said they'd managed to log in were reporting issues with friends lists and other features. Unfortunately, there aren't many things you can do to stop a DDoS attack. Players will likely have to wait for this to settle before getting reliable service again.

For the most up-to-date information on the situation, be sure to follow the official Ubisoft Support Twitter account.

So, what do you think? Are you disappointed to see the Uplay service fall victim to a DDoS attack? Are you more upset with the person or people responsible for the attack? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
