'The Umbrella Academy' Season 2: What Powers Do The Hargreeves Have?
The Umbrella Academy Season 2 may see a lot of changes in the world of The Hargreeves family, but one thing that stays the same is each character's powers.
The Netflix series' first season introduced us to the children of Sir Reginald Hargreeves (played by Colm Fiore), who adopted seven children all born at the same time, and each of which has superpowers.
These powers, however, are not the usual flight, invincibility, and invisibility that most comic book heroes have, though Luther (Tom Hopper) does have superstrength.
The Umbrella Academy's last season final revealed the powers of Vanya (Ellen Page) meaning that we now know all the powers that the seven Hargreeves children have.
All the powers The Umbrella Academy have
WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for The Umbrella Academy Season 1 and minor spoilers for Season 2.

Vanya: Sound manipulation
Throughout Season 1, Vanya was thought to have no powers, save for some talent in playing the violin. However, it is later revealed that in fact, she has one of the biggest powers of all, which her father deliberately repressed in her because she could not control it.
Vanya has control over soundwaves, which she can use to move and control objects, send devastating shockwaves and, if she absorbs the soundwaves, send a burst of energy powerful enough to literally destroy the moon.
This also gives her some secondary abilities, like enhanced hearing, as well as some control of the weather while in a heightened emotional state.
Luther: Super-strength
After a failed mission that nearly killed Luther (Tom Hopper), his father saved his life with a serum which gives him a body that mixes the physiology of a human and an ape.
This body has two benefits: It improves his already superhuman strength, which even as a child allowed him to throw adults across the room, and also makes his body less vulnerable to damage.
Diego: Controlling the trajectory of weapons
Diego (David Castañeda) is a master knife-throwing, with his skills aided by the fact he is able to curve the trajectory of any weapon he throws so as to better hit a target.
Allison: Mind control
Allison can get anyone to do anything by beginning a statement with "I heard a rumor." For example, she causes Diego to hit himself by saying: "I heard a rumor you punched yourself in the face," in The Umbrella Academy Season 2, Episode 6.
Of all the Hargreeves, Allison has the most ethical problem with her powers, stemming from being forced by her father to use it on Vanya to make her forget about her powers. After her first husband saw her using her powers on her daughter, she stopped using it for a time, and then stopped using them again when sent into the 1960s at the start of Season 2.
Klaus: Spirit conjuring
Klaus (Robert Sheehan) has the ability to communicate with the dead, an ability that he tries to numb with drugs and alcohol. As well as being able to talk to spirits like his dead brother Ben (Justin H. Min), he is sometimes able to manifest these spirits into the real world.
Number Five: Teleportation through space and time
Number Five (Aidan Gallagher) initially has the ability to teleport through space and is able to also move through time, though he has far from mastered this. In Season 2, he gets stuck in an apocalyptic future, while in Season 2 he sends everyone back into the 1960s.
Ben: Tentacles/possession
Ben has a portal in his stomach, from which he gets summon tentacles from another dimension.
However, after his death, he gains another power. In The Umbrella Academy Season 2, he is able to possess Klaus and interact with the world of the living through him. However, it is not clear whether this is a power of Ben's, something made possible by Klaus' powers, or a combination of both.
The Umbrella Academy Season 2 is streaming now on Netflix.
