Watch: Undertaker Returns At WrestleMania 34

The Undertaker made a surprise appearance at WrestleMania 34 to confront John Cena after weeks of being called out by the WWE Superstar.

The confrontation between the Undertaker and John Cena at WrestleMania started after the SmackDown Women's championship match between Charlotte Flair and Asuka. A referee ran to John Cena (who was in the audience) and told him something that sent Cena sprinting to the back.

John Cena comes to the ring after the SmackDown Tag Team titles but then a referee gives him some news that upsets him. He starts to walk to the back when the lights go out and Elias comes out. Cena goes back to his seat but after some taunting he goes into the ring and fights Elias.

As Cena's leaving the arena after beating Elias the lights drop again. A spotlight shines ont he ring, where we see The Undertaker's trademark hat and trenchcoat. Lightning strikes the clothing and it disappears, moments before The Undertaker's entrance music begins and the WWE Legend himself appears to finally answer Cena's call. It was a short match, with The Undertaker going through all of his signature moves before defeating Cena via Tombstone piledriver.

The Undertaker last wrestled at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando. He lost to Roman Reigns, his second career loss at WrestleMania after nearly two decades of going undefeated (he lost to Brock Lesnar in 2014). After Roman Reigns pinned him, the Undertaker took in the crowd's chants before leaving his iconic coat and hat in the middle of the ring before descending the ramp. He had not be seen in a WWE ring again, until tonight.

John Cena's story over the past month has revolved around whether or not he will have a match at this year's WrestleMania. After failing to win this year's Royal Rumble in Philadelphia to become the number one contender for Brock Lesnar's Universal Title, Cena then lost a title opportunity for AJ Styles' WWE Championship at Fastlane this past Sunday. For the weeks leading up to WrestleMania 34, Cena has called out Undertaker in scathing promos and even defeated the Dead Man's brother, Kane.

After Rey Mysterio's appearance at the Royal Rumble, rumors swirled whether he will be Cena's opponent at WrestleMania 34. However, an apparent bicep injury seems to have sidelined the wrestler from his prior wrestling dates including 'Mania.
