Two months on since they met in the Gold Cup final, the U.S. men's national team (USMNT) and Mexico revive their rivalry on Friday night.

The two teams haven't played since and will in all likelihood look vastly different on Friday, with USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter and his counterpart Gerardo Martino set to refresh their rosters.

Ajax defender Sergino Dest should start at right-back, with Nick Lima set to get the nod on the other flank. Martino has named a 31-man squad and could use the game against USMNT to give a chance to some of his fringe players, given Mexico then plays Argentina on Tuesday.
El Tri's roster, however, is arguably more experienced than it was at the Gold Cup two months ago.
Hector Herrera makes his return to and should join Gold Cup hero Dos Santos in midfield alongside Edson Alvarez.

When and where is the game?
The U.S. takes on Mexico at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Friday, September 6.
Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

The game will be broadcast live on FOX Sports 1 in English and on Univision Deportes Network in Spanish.

Mexico leads the all-time series with 35 wins to the USMNT's 15, with 19 draws. The last three meetings have been equally shared, with one win each and a draw. Crucially, however, El Tri's most recent win came in the Gold Cup final two months ago.
Neither of the two teams has won this fixture back-to-back since Mexico in 2015 and 2016.
Strangely, USMNT hasn't lost a friendly against Mexico since 1984.
