New 'Venom' Trailer Shows More Symbiote Action

The first Venom trailer introduced Eddie Brock (played by Tom Hardy) and the story behind the upcoming Sony and Marvel Studios film. The newly released second trailer really amps up the action and gives new insight into Brock's character.

The video starts with footage we've already seen in the first trailer and previous teasers:. Eddie Brock is searching Carlton Drake's (Riz Ahmed)company for a news story and instead finds something "bad." And that's when Brock's life gets turned upside down as he is now infected with the Venom symbiote, and has to defend himself from Drake's goons who are trying to quarantine him at gunpoint

Drake also explains his company's intentions with the symbiotes. He believes mankind is "on the brink of collapse" and he believes hybrid humans can save civilization. What follows are scene after scene of Brock and the Venom symbiote talking to each other, as it tries to assert its dominance over the reporter.

Some of the best parts of the new Venom trailer were seeing the comic book version of the symbiote fully realized with the sharp teeth, white eyes and long tongue as he threatens to eat the body parts of various criminals. And, of course, hearing Eddie and Venom refer to themselves in the third person.

Another interesting tidbit from the new trailer was the appearance of a female symbiote host wearing an EMT uniform. She shoots spikes from her bike in a crowded marketplace and is likely Eddie's first obstacle in the movie before he gets to the big bad of the film, Drake, who also merges with his own symbiote shown at the end.

It's been reported that Ahmed's character will become the symbiote Riot from the comics who is similar to Venom, but gray in color.
