Verizon Down, Not Working? LTE, Mobile Data, Internet Outages Reported by Users

Update: According to Verizon, services were restored about 90 minutes after initial reports that Verizon LTE was down. A spokesperson said most of the issues were in Illinois and Wisconsin.

Thousands of Verizon customers looking to check their fantasy football lineups, answer a work email or just waste time on Facebook were unable to do so Monday. Widespread outages were reported around 12:45 p.m. ET, with users saying Verizon LTE services were down and not working for internet access.

According to Down Detector, most of Verizon outages Monday were in the Midwest and along the East Coast.

"Down in Milwaukee, Having issues connecting to the play store and other apps on my phone," Down Detector user Jenni wrote.

"No mobile data or internet, unable to work. Losing money in Davenport Iowa," another wrote.

"Is verizon down rn or something or should i just hit my phone with a hammer?" one Twitter user wrote.

Verizon's support Twitter account did not put out a blanket statement on why its services were down Monday but instead were trying to troubleshoot individual complaints. The Verizon tech support was asking some users to turn off and reboot their phone.

As of 1:30 p.m. EST users were still reporting that Verizon LTE was not working.

"My phone data isn't working wtf Verizon," twitter user Samantha wrote.

"Phone works on WiFi doesn't work on LTE. when I try to test server it comes up as Xfinity as a provider not Verizon, Twitter users Emily tweeted.

Newsweek has reached out to Verizon for comment. We'll update the post when services have returned.
