Versace's Murder Revives The Fbi's 10 Most Wanted

A CRIME-BUSTING LEGEND SINCE THE DAYS OF JOHN DILLINGER, the FBI's Most Wanted list today includes a motley collection of career criminals and terrorists - most of them totally unknown to the public at large. But now, thanks to the sensational murder of Gianni Versace and the strange odyssey of prime suspect Andrew Cunanan, the glamour is back. J. Edgar would be pleased.

1. Lamen Khalifa Fhimah

Believed to be a Libyan secret agent, Fhimah is still being sought for the 1988 bombing of Pan Am 103.

2. Victor Manuel Gerena

Gerena got away with $7 million by robbing a West Hartford, Conn., security company in 1983.

3. Glen Stewart Godwin

Convicted murderer Godwin is one of only three men ever to escape from California's Folsom Prison.

4. Mir Aimal Kansi

Captured in Pakistan in June, Kansi is accused of shooting five CIA employees during an incident outside the agency's Langley, Va., headquarters in 1993.

5. Abdel Basset Ali

Al-Megrahi The second suspect in the Pan Am 103 attack. Like Fhimah (above), Al-Megrahi allegedly is a Libyan intelligence agent.

6. Augustin Vasquez-Mendoza

Made the Most Wanted list for allegedly participating in the murder of a DEA undercover agent in Scottsdale, Ariz., in 1994.

7. Thang Thanh Nguyen

Charged with the execution-style murder of a Vietnamese businessman in Irondequoit, N.Y., in 1992.

8. Andrew Phillip Cunanan

Suspected of five killings, Cunanan is currently charged only with the murder of David Madson.

9. Arthur Lee Washington Jr.

Allegedly associated with militant black groups, Washington is accused of killing a New Jersey state trooper in 1989.

10. Donald Eugene Webb

A master burglar who specialized in jewelry stores, Webb vanished after the shooting death of a Pennsylvania police chief in 1980.
