Veterans Day Free Meals 2018: Freebies, Deals for Those Who Have Served, Are Serving

To say "thank you" to those who have served America in the armed forces, several businesses across the country are offering deals and freebies to United States veterans and active duty service members.

Each year on November 11, America honors those living and dead who served their country in the military. Although the official holiday fell on Sunday, schools and some businesses were closed on Monday and deals were extended, as well.

At IHOP, veterans and active duty military personnel can enjoy free red, white and blueberry pancakes on Monday from 7:00 a.m. local time until 7:00 p.m. local time.

White Castle

Veterans and active duty military personnel are welcome to venture to a participating White Castle on Monday and receive a free breakfast combo or choose one of six castle combo meals. Participants must have a valid military identification card to enjoy the discount.

"As a family-owned business, it's an honor for White Castle to stand with our communities in recognition of past and current members of the U.S. military for their commitment and sacrifices for our country," Jamie Richardson, the vice president of White Castle, said in a press release. "This special offer is just one small but delicious way that we can express our appreciation."

Texas de Brazil

For those veterans who want to try all the meat they can, Texas de Brazil is offering free dining. Two veterans in a party can eat dinner for free and six additional guests can enjoy their meals with a 20 percent discount. To receive the deal, veterans must mention their service before dining and have a valid military identification.
