Veterans Day Free Meals at Denny's, Applebee's and More

On Veterans Day, November 11, many restaurants across the country are offering free meals to all veterans and active-duty military members.

Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, several venues may be operating on reduced hours. There may also be measures including social distancing guidelines and capacity limits. Check your local branch before visiting for more information.

Below are some of this year's Veterans Day free meal offers at some major dining venues across the country.

Denny's

Veterans and military personnel get a free Build Your Own Grand Slam meal, one of Denny's signature breakfast offers, on November 11 with a valid military ID.

Guests can choose any four items from everything from buttermilk pancakes, eggs cooked to order and bacon strips to buttermilk biscuits and hash browns. The offer is valid for dine-in only at participating locations from 5 a.m. to noon local time.

"While the world may look different this year, as America's Diner we are still committed to honoring America's heroes as we always have," said John Dillon, chief brand officer for Denny's.

"We've worked diligently over the last several months to ensure the health and safety of dine-in guests and are proud to welcome in veterans across the country to safely have a hot meal on us, a small token of our great appreciation for their service."

Applebee's

Veterans and active-duty military members can enjoy a complimentary meal from a limited menu at select Applebee's venues on Veterans Day. The offer is valid for dine-in only. Check your local branch before traveling.

Chili's

Chili's is offering a free meal to all veterans and active members of the military with a valid ID on November 11. Guests can choose one of the following dishes:

  • Chicken Crispers
  • Margarita Grilled Chicken
  • Bowl of Chili or Soup & Salad
  • Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas
  • Just Bacon Burger
  • Oldtimer with Cheese
  • Cajun Chicken Pasta

"Today and every day, we thank you, our veterans and active military members who define selfless service. We look forward to once again showing our gratitude with a FREE veterans day meal as a small way to honor your service and the sacrifices you've made for our country. Thank you will never be enough," the company said.

Red Lobster

"In honor of Veterans Day, and to thank veterans, active-duty military and reservists for their service, Red Lobster is offering dine-in guests a free appetizer or dessert on Wednesday, November 11," the company has declared.

Guests may choose from a special menu that includes the following items:

Appetizers

  • Lobster and Langostino Pizza
  • Seafood-Stuffed Mushrooms
  • Parrot Isle Jumbo Coconut Shrimp
  • Langostino Lobster-Artichoke-and-Seafood Dip
  • Crab-Stuffed Shrimp Rangoon
  • Signature Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail
  • Mozzarella Cheesesticks

Desserts

  • Chocolate Wave
  • Vanilla Bean Cheesecake
  • Warm Apple Crostada
  • Key Lime Pie

Olive Garden

The Italian restaurant chain is also offering veterans and current members of the military a free main dish from a select menu on November 11. All entrees come with freshly baked garlic breadsticks, as well as your choice of homemade soup or house salad. Valid for dine-in guests only.

Outback Steakhouse

On November 11, the restaurant chain is offering a complimentary Bloomin' Onion (a deep-fried onion dish) and a Coca-Cola product to all veterans and active members of the military. The offer is valid for dine-in and take-out for call-in orders only.
