Veterans Day Deals 2021: Free Meals and Discounts From Starbucks to Target

On Veterans Day, we remember those who are part of the armed forces. To help commemorate the federal holiday, many businesses offer special discounts for veterans.

From restaurants to retail stores, there are plenty of free meals and discounts available.

Though the list below states general deals, local stores and restaurants may have alternative options, so be sure to check your local establishment.

Newsweek breaks down some of the best discounts for veterans to enjoy this year.

Free Meals and Deals on Veterans Day


At Dunkin', veterans and those in active military service will receive a free donut of their choice on November 11. No purchase is necessary and it will be taking place at participating restaurants.


Denny's is bringing its Build Your Own Grand Slam deal to veterans for free. The breakfast deal, which runs from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m., means customers can customize their breakfast, choosing four items from bacon to buttermilk pancakes to enjoy.

El Torito

On November 11, those who are veterans or in active military can get a free three-item meal at El Torito. The combo includes refried beans, sweet corn cake and rice, and has options from enchiladas to crispy tacos and tamales.

Hard Rock Cafe

Veterans and active military can get a free original Legendary Steak Burger from Hard Rock Cafe. Any active or retired military member with valid ID can get this deal, as well as 15 percent off the rest of the menu.

Red Lobster

Dine-in guests at Red Lobster who are veterans, active duty military and reservists will get a free appetizer or dessert from a special menu on November 11 with a valid military ID or proof of service. Items on the special menu include lobster and langostino pizza, mozzarella cheese sticks, brownie overboard and key lime pie.


Starbucks' deal on Veterans Day extends not just to veterans and military service members, but also to military spouses who can get a free tall hot brewed coffee on November 11.

Then, 25 cents from every sale of hot brewed coffee on that day will be donated to charities Headstrong and Team Red, White & Blue, who support the mental health of military communities.


At Target, veterans and active military who register on the store's website can gain a 10 percent discount off all purchases in stores and online. This deal lasts from October 31 to November 13, and the offer can be used twice in that time.


At Wendy's, veterans of those currently serving in the military can get a free breakfast combo by showing their military ID or Veterans Advantage card on November 11.
