Video of Farmer Rescuing Stranded Duckling Is Melting Hearts Online

A video of a dairy farmer rescuing a stranded duckling has gone viral online, having been watched by a whopping 6 million people.

The TikTok footage, which was shared on October 3 by a man from New Zealand on his account Aklaas20.

The clip, which can be viewed here, begins with him holding a duckling and running down a path, before jumping a fence into a field.

He can then be heard yelling: "You forgot one mummy. Ah you're running away! You forgot one."

He runs across the field before dropping the duckling on the ground, exclaiming: "Go little duckling find your mummy. Aww, they are going to be reunited!"

We then see the small bird run towards a duck who is being trailed by her brood.

The victory is made all the more sweet by the man's joyful cheers and he has captioned the adorable reunion with the hashtags: "#duckling #fyp."

Since the clip was posted it has gained lots of traction online, having surpassed a whopping 1.4 million likes and 24,800 shares.

Additionally, more than 10,400 people have rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts on the sweet footage.

One TikTok user, Evander, wrote: "That ducky is always going to remember the day he FLEW."

Another person, Gabrielle, added: "Why is no one talking about how he got over the fence so easily."

Itspika00 typed: "There is too much serotonin in this video."

Harmon opined: "This person deserves the cold side of the pillow."

Ferret Wrangler asked: "Did you guys see the little peppy jump the duckling did when he found his mom??? The best thing I've seen all day."

Samanthaidek gushed: "Thank you for reuniting them."

Rugai commented: "Thank you for your service, mate."

A TikToker called Mijjson aired their doubt about the video, writing: "I feel like you caught the duckling, took a moment to pull your phone out and start recording yourself, then posted it for attention."

In response to this, Aklaas20 made a follow-up video on October 4 in which he spoke into the camera, explaining: "So I'm a dairy farmer and the ducklings were actually in the pit where we milk and there is no access for them to get out so I had to get into the pit to help the duckling out.

"Then the mum took off with the rest of the ducklings."

Newsweek has contacted Aklaas20 for comment.
