Viral Video Comparing 'The Avengers' to 'Phineas and Ferb' Movie Delights TikTok

A viral video comparing The Avengers to Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension, has delighted TikTok.

The video was posted to the platform on Wednesday by Dan Povenmire, the co-creator of Phineas and Ferb and voice actor for the series's main antagonist, Dr. Doofenshmirtz.

The post has racked up more than 365,000 views and over 131,000 likes.

"Do you remember that first movie where all the heroes were together and they had that one building downtown that was branded?" Povenmire asks, referring to the Stark Tower in The Avengers.

"The one weirdly-shaped building that had a device up on top of it that shot a ray up into the sky and opened a big circular portal into another dimension and this army of metallic-gray warriors came through and flew around downtown," he continues.

"And there was this huge, epic battle where they battled them, and when they finally shut off that device, they all fell from the sky and just collapsed."

The battle Povenmire is referring to is known as "The Battle of New York," a "nonstop, 30-minute finale fight between the super squad and an intergalactic battalion of Chitauri warriors, led by Thor's nefarious half-brother, Loki," explained Thrillist.

Fans of the MCU know that the battle had a lasting effect on the remainder of the franchise. It not only solidified the formation of The Avengers as a team but also proved that aliens existed in the MCU and "sent Iron Man into an existential spiral that tracked through subsequent sequels," according to Thrillist.

The battle also serves as the origin story for Kate Bishop, the MCU's newest hero.

After Povenmire has taken the time to describe "The Battle of New York," and show clips from the sequence, Povenmire goes on to describe the battle sequence from Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension.

He explains that, much like in The Avengers, the sequence had: "A branded, weird-shaped building that has a device on it that shot a ray up into the sky and opened a circular hole into another dimension," through which an "entire army of metallic-gray warriors comes through and there was a big, epic battle and when they shut the device off, they all fell and collapsed."

Clips from the sequence are played as Povenmire describes the scene.

The kicker? "We did it a year earlier," Povenmire said.

Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension was released in 2011, while The Avengers was released in 2012. Of course, the development phase for The Avengers started years earlier and was originally slated for a 2011 release, according to Disney Wiki.

Still, many viewers loved the comparison and the fact that the Phineas and Ferb movie was released first.

"I KNEW IT!!! MOMMMMMM PHINEAS AND FERB ARE PREDATING THE MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE," wrote TikTok user dadlifejohnson in a nod to Candace, Phineas and Ferb's older sister.

Comedian Benjamin Brainard asked: "Dan do you want to fight the avengers because I'm with you. I could take the hulk."

"So are you saying that Phineas and Ferb are avengers from a different universe and will appear in No Way Home or Multiverse of Madness," joked TikToker Maya about the upcoming MCU films starring Spider-Man and Doctor Strange.

"Marvel can't keep up with you Dan," said joeywright_vo.

"I am shook, y'all," commented jiffy311q.
