Seasoned actor and stuntman Vladimír Furdík is the man behind the impassive face of Game of Thrones' iconic Night King, who was at the center of a jaw-dropping moment in last week's episode. The 48-year-old Slovak actor has played the character since the series' sixth season when, he took over for Richard Brake. However, Furdík didn't start as the infamous villain on the GoT set.

This article contains spoilers for Season 8, Episode 3. Turn back now!

The 48-year-old initially worked as a stunt double and a stunt supervisor on the HBO fantasy series, specifically for Season 5's epic "Hardhome" episode, he explained in an interview with Entertainment Weekly last month.

"When we did Season 5, I was the White Walker who fought Jon Snow — the first time Jon Snow killed a White Walker, that was me," Furdík said to Entertainment Weekly. "After that, [showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss] asked if I'd play the Night King for Seasons 6 through 8. I never asked why. Maybe they were happy with what I did in Season 5."

Before Game of Thrones, Furdík appeared as a stunt double in films such as Sherlock Holmes, Skyfall, Spartacus, and Thor: The Dark World.

The long-awaited Battle of Winterfell concluded with the shocking demise of the Night King. Fans ultimately found Furdík's Instagram page and were shocked to find the hunky face behind the villainous makeup.

"Amazing how some great makeup can blow our minds and pump our hearts," Instagram user @bronxmp63 wrote. "Thanks for the epic performance! Will never forget you!"

"What a little makeup can do! Sweet looking guy IRL," @lesbngrrl commented.

"I found the Night King," @gameofvicky added. "He is soo cute."

"Night King is pretty hot," @happy.pitty.mom concluded.

While Furdík's time of the beloved HBO series has come to an end, find out what is next on Game of Thrones when Episode 4 airs Sunday.
