'The Voice' Season 15 Spoilers: Who Are the Coaches After Kelsea Ballerini's Addition?

The Voice is getting a new coach—well, sort of. NBC announced country star Kelsea Ballerini is joining The Voice family as a fifth coach on Monday, except the singer won't necessarily have a seat in one of the show's iconic red swivel chairs.

Ballerini is slated to coach contestants on The Voice's companion series, Comeback Stage, NBC announced. Ballerini will mentor six contestants as they attempt to land a spot on the main show after failing to get through the Season 15 blind auditions. The artists will pair off and perform in battle rounds, which Ballerini will judge in addition to offering her star advice along the way. The person that wins the web series competition will get a second shot at appearing in the main competition in November and will also snag a spot in The Voice's top 13.

The Comeback Stage contestants have yet to be revealed.

Grammy-winning Ballerini shared her joy to join The Voice spinoff in an Instagram post on Monday. "Y'all, I have been SO excited share that I'm joining the @nbcthevoice family this fall as the 5 coach for the first ever 'Comeback Stage.' It's been such a new, fulfilling challenge and I've been beyond inspired by the artists I've gotten to meet and work with," she wrote. "I can't wait for you to fall in love with them."

Ballerini will join original show judges Blake Shelton and Adam Levin as well as former American Idol contestants Jennifer Hudson, who became a coach on the show back on Season 13, and Kelly Clarkson, who signed on with The Voice back during Season 14.

Clarkson and Hudson explained what an honor it was to coach contestants on a competitive singing show after having established their own successful careers in a similar fashion during a new behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming season released by Billboard on Sunday. "You can give the perspective of 'Yes, you can win,' and I can give the other perspective of, 'You don't have to win, it's a matter of what you take and do with your opportunity,'" Hudson said in the clip.

The Voice returns to NBC with Season 15 on September 24 at 8 p.m. ET.
