Watch This Real Life 'Fox and the Hound' Duo React to Getting to Spend Time Together

The animated Disney film Fox and The Hound comes to life in a wholesome video that's surfaced on Reddit. User reva_r shared a clip on Friday of a fox and dog reuniting for some playtime. The video, labeled on Reddit as "Fox excited to see her best friend," was likened to the 1981 movie.

In the 49-second clip, a leashed fox waits excitedly outside of a building. Out of view, a dog comes out, and the fox gets on the ground, ready to play. The dog and fox then play-fight and roll around on the ground. Both animals are so thrilled to see each other they don't seem to know what to do with themselves. You can even hear the fox whining out of pure joy while the two play.

Folks on Reddit shared their favorite Fox and The Hound quotes, and spoke about how much the movie meant to them. "'Copper, you're my very best friend.' 'You're mine, too, Tod,'" one user wrote.

"'And we'll always be friends forever,'" another Redditor added, completing the emotional quote. "'Yeah, forever.'"

"This movie always makes me cry. One of my favorites as a child, very underrated Disney film," someone else chimed in.

"When my daughter was born, we bought a bunch of old Disney movies. My wife picked out this one and I reminded her how sad it was. She didn't remember it being sad and that it'll be fine," one Redditor shared. "First time we watched it my wife bawled like a baby and we haven't watched it since."

Others were preoccupied with the sounds the excited fox made. "I thought a little kid was laughing until I realized it was the fox," one Redditor realized. "The sounds of an excited fox are absolutely ridiculous," another wrote. "Clicked for the excited fox noises, was not disappointed," a third quipped.

Someone joked that the 2013 viral song "What Does The Fox Say?" was an accurate description, considering the noises the fox in the video made.

According to Popular Science, red foxes (which looks to be the species in the Reddit video) are very vocal. "The most commonly heard red fox vocalizations are a quick series of barks, and a scream-y variation on a howl," the outlet noted. Fox sounds are typically higher-pitched than dog sounds, partially because foxes are smaller than most dogs.

Additionally, foxes make a sound called "gekkering" which is a "chattering with occasional yelps and howls." Foxes make these sounds when play-fighting and communicating with other foxes in close proximity, Popular Science noted.

By the sounds of the fox in the clip, it's safe to say that she was thrilled to see her best friend.
