Everything Jennifer Garner Has Said About Her Close Relationship with Bradley Cooper

Jennifer Garner and Bradley Cooper have been friends and peers since working together on J.J. Abrams' thriller Alias in 2001.

The two actors were photographed together on Thursday. They were building sandcastles, with someone who appears to be Cooper's daughter, at a beach in Malibu on, according to TMZ.

Garner has spoken a lot about her friendship with Cooper in the past. Since Alias, the two have reportedly remained close. In March 2019, People reported that Garner hosted The Hangover actor with his then-girlfriend, child, and mother for dinner after the Oscars. The two were photographed by The Daily Mail at a fashion show in Paris in 2016.

In a 2013 GQ profile, Cooper began (but did not finish) a story about his first time meeting Garner. He said, "Do you want a cookie?" was the first thing that the Valentine's Day actress had said to him.

These are a few of the times that Garner has spoken about her friendship with Cooper.

2006-Alias Finale

Both actors had an interview side-by-side to coincide with the final episode of Alias, which Cooper returned to the show after leaving before the show's third season. The two joked a lot and shared many laughs in the interview. "[Working with Cooper is] fine, but every few takes, we have to just stop, because things get so big and ridiculous," she said. Later she joked that "Bradley Cooper is the Brad Pitt of Alias." She said they had a "great time" when old actors came back for episodes of the show.

October 2018-Camping Premiere

At a premiere event for her series Camping in 2018, a reporter for Entertainment Tonight asked her if she'd seen Cooper's directorial debut A Star is Born yet, after showing her a photo of the actor from Alias. "I saw earlier cuts. I'm so excited for him. I'm so proud of him. We could've told you then that he would do what he's doing now," she said.

November 2019-Cinematheque Awards Honors Speech

At the 32nd Annual Cinematheque Awards, Garner honored Cooper with a loving roast, making jabs at his frosted tips from the show. "My mental image of Bradley Cooper is of an apple-drooling frosted haired boy wonder," she said. "It wasn't until I heard him speaking French to a background artist on set one day that I was like, 'Wait a minute. Is Bradley handsome?'"

She went on to praise Cooper for his success. "I know the heart and stomach of Bradley Cooper. Bradley, what's happening to you now is a pure joy to those who know you, especially to those of us who've known you from the start. It turns out you weren't just handsome all along. You were also a wonder, and you are welcome at my table anytime."

January 2019-Golden Globe Well Wishes

In 2019, Garner again expressed how proud she was of the actor and seemingly wished him luck at the Golden Globes that year in addition to wishing the actor a happy birthday. "I taught him everything he knows," she wrote. "Happy Birthday, Bradley. Go get em tomorrow. We are all so proud of you."

Garner's publicist did not respond to Newsweek's emailed request for comment in time for publication. Cooper's publicist declined to comment.
