'What a Jerk': Internet Slams 'Bachelor' Clayton for 'Gaslighting' His Date

This season's Bachelor, Clayton Echard, is under fire as fans call him out on rude behavior. It all began while on a date with final three contestant Susie and ended with, what some called, "gaslighting."

As season 26 comes to an ending next Monday and Tuesday, this week's episodes were quite dramatic. Monday's Women Tell All, all the contestants sat down together to talk about the events that unraveled throughout the season—and the battle of everyone vs Shanae—to Clayton's freak out regarding Susie's feelings.

The final scene of Tuesday's episode, one of the final three women, Susie, revealed that she wouldn't want Clayton sleeping with other women in the fantasy suites if he knew that she was the one for him but he already had. The discussion started a fight that left Susie heartbroken and heading home while Clayton's bad behavior became increasingly frustrating for viewers.

Fans of the show took to Twitter to slam Clayton and how he reacted to the situation.

"Scary that that's how Clayton talks to the women he 'loves.' You dodged a bullet Susie," @andrak701 stated.

@viallnicholas28 questioned, "When exactly was Susie suppose to bring this up earlier? When Introducing Clayton to her family? Perhaps a group date?"

@steal_ya_4_asec slammed the Bachelor saying, "The grossest part of this is Clayton's anger toward Susie and his shift of blame to her — what a jerk."

"Susie absolutely DESERVES to be the bachelorette after having to listen all of that bulls**t from Clayton. NEVER apologize for having standards, Susie," @daylightswiftie said.

@tamargreenexoxo exclaimed, "I KNOW D**N WELL CLAYTON IS NOT ABOUT TO MANIPULATE AND GASLIGHT SUSIE FOR 'NOT SHOWING HER FEELINGS SOONER' AS A WAY TO DEFLECT THE BLAME ON TO HER FOR THEIR CRUMBLING RELATIONSHIP WHEN HE IS THE ONE AT FAULT LIKE."

"Clayton getting mad at Susie for not explicitly telling him she'd be mad if he boned the other women proves the bar is truly in the basement for men," @BrettSVergara wrote in a viral tweet, gaining more than 11,000 likes.

"Susie girl. It's never asking too much. Your standards are never too high. The one for you will rise to meet your standards," @Kaiil120 wrote.

"I think Susie has every right to be upset. just because he has three fantasy suites doesn't mean he has to sleep with all three women and say he loves them. if he wanted Susie, he should have protected that relationship," @Bitchelorette_ tweeted.

Watch the season finale of The Bachelor on Monday, March 14th and Tuesday, March 15th at 8 p.m. EST/PST on ABC.
