What Piers Morgan Said About Birth of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Second Baby

Piers Morgan has said he is declining to comment on the news of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new baby.

The television personality and columnist has had a widely publicized beef with the Duchess of Sussex in recent months following her explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Morgan was at the center of a media frenzy when he stormed off the set of ITV breakfast show Good Morning Britain in March after insisting he didn't believe claims made by Meghan in the interview.

On Sunday, Meghan and Harry, who are based in California, announced the birth of their second child, a daughter they have named Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, or Lili for short.

Morgan took to Twitter to acknowledge the news but revealed he wishes to respect the couples' privacy.

"To those asking for my reaction to the new royal baby, I am respecting her parents' constant pleas for privacy and declining to comment," Morgan tweeted on Sunday.

Some comments acknowledged that while Morgan said he was declining to comment, he still commented on the birth.

Meghan and Harry said in a statement on their Archewell website: "On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili.

"She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we've felt from across the globe.

"Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family."

Weighing 7lbs 11oz, Lilibeth was born at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara close to the couples' Montecito home.

"It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world," a statement from Harry and Meghan's spokespeople read.

The statement also confirms that Lili "is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet."

They continued: "Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales.

"The Duke and Duchess thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as they enjoy this special time as a family."

The couple are also parents to their two-year-old son named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

Last week, Morgan claimed Meghan "personally complained" to his bosses before he was infamously dismissed from Good Morning Britain.

"Meghan Markle had personally complained to the boss of my company," he said in an interview with Australia's 60 Minutes.
