When Is 'Dancing With The Stars' Coming Back? There's Already One Confirmed Contestant

Dancing With The Stars is going to look a little different when it returns, and that's not just because of the coronavirus. The popular reality competition just lost of both of its longtime hosts, Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews. Bergeron hosted the series for 15 years!

It appears the decision was made by ABC, who let Bergeron and Andrews go before the return of Season 29. A statement from ABC and BBC production studios clarified on Monday in a statement to People.

"Tom Bergeron will forever be part of the Dancing with the Stars family. As we embark on a new creative direction, he departs the show with our sincerest thanks and gratitude for his trademark wit and charm that helped make this show a success," it said.

Further comment revealed Andrews' dismissal, too. "Erin will also not be returning, and we appreciate all that she brought to the ballroom. Fans have been rooting for her since she originally competed as a contestant back in 2010, and her signature sense of humor has become a hallmark of the show."

While there's no word on who will host, or what the new "creative direction" holds for the show, we do know a few things about Season 29.

No official announcement has been made for the premiere date of Dancing With The Stars, but it's expected to air in the fall of 2020. This comes after a summer of ABC production shutdowns, along with much of Hollywood. The fall premiere will likely depend on COVID-19 numbers and risks in America at the time the series is scheduled to film.

Unlike past years, there's already one contestant confirmed for the upcoming season. Former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe agreed to participate on the ABC series during an episode of The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons—Ever! Host Chris Harrison popped the question to Bristowe, who has long pleaded to be on the show.

Her reaction to the exciting news went viral as she learned of the opportunity via video call. Last season, former Bachelorette Hannah Brown won the competition, so Bristowe may have some Bachelor franchise luck on her side.

There aren't any other confirmed cast members at this time, but of course, there are rumors. One of the leading hopes from some fans is that Christie Brinkley will return for Season 29 after her journey on Season 28 was cut short. Brinkley broke her wrist while rehearsing for the show, and her daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, stepped in. While fans applauded Brinkley-Cook, some want to see her mother actually take the stage.
