President Donald Trump's Iowa rally:

Date: Tuesday, October 9, 2018

Time: 7:30 p.m. ET (6:30 p.m. local time)

Location: Mid-American Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa (the metro Omaha, Nebraska, area)

This is the fourth rally in Council Bluffs Trump has had held since he began campaigning in 2015. One elected official said Trump may have some news to announce, hinting at something that may impact farmers.

"I know that we will have some exciting news, that's my hope," Senator Joni Ernst, according to KITV. "I can't say conclusively until Tuesday is here but, I think it's going to be a great step forward for our biofuels industry and, I think it will be a great thing for our farm markets as well."

Ernst told KITV she is thankful that Trump has been listening to farmers.

Meanwhile, in news on the day before the rally, Trump declared a reprieve for Rod Rosenstein, saying he has no plans to fire his deputy attorney general, according to the Associated Press.

Trump traveled with Rosenstein to an international police chiefs' conference in Florida Monday, the AP reported. As he returned to the White House, Trump told reporters: "I'm not making any changes. We just had a very nice talk. We actually get along."
