Where Did Drogon Take Daenerys? How the Dragon Queen Could Be Brought Back to Life

The Game of Thrones saga concluded Sunday night, with the pinnacle moment of Episode 6, Season 8, happening when Jon Snow betrays his queen by fatally stabbing Daenerys Targaryen after she burned King's Landing to the ground. Drogon, her last remaining dragon, swoops in, melts the Iron Throne, and flies off with Daenerys' body. The series finishes with no one knowing Drogon's whereabouts. With Daenerys' body nowhere to be found, some hopeful fans mused Drogon absconded with his mother's body to bring her back to life but is that possible? Listed below are potential ways Daenerys could be revived.

A Red Priestess (or Preist) in Asshai

One way Daenerys could potentially be brought back to life is if Drogon took her to the continent of Essos, Asshai specifically, where there is a red priestess who could resurrect her. In Game of Thrones, Melisandre, who is from Asshai, was able to bring people back from the dead through the Lord of the Light. She was arguably one of the most powerful people in Westeros, but died after helping living defeat the Night King. If another person with such ability existed in Essos, they could possibly bring Daenerys back from the dead.

Quaithe in Qarth

If fans go back to Season 2, Jorah Mormont encounters Quaithe. Like Melisandre, she is a shadowbinder from Asshai, which means she has powers like clairvoyance and prophecy. She warned Jorah that people were out to get Daenerys' dragons.

Kinvara in Volantis

Kinvara, a Red Priestess from Volantis, first appeared on Game of Thrones in Season 6. She met with Tyrion Lannister and Varys in the Great Pyramid of Meereen. Tyrion asked her people to rally behind Daenerys, to ask them to see her as their protector and guardian, not a conqueror. Kinvara was happy to assist Tyrion, saying Daenerys "is the one who was promised. From the fire she was reborn to remake the world... Daenerys has been sent to lead the people against the darkness in this war and in the great war still to come." The last time she's seen on the series, it's vowing that she will speak about peak about Daenerys all throughout Essos.

The Children of the Forest

Just because Daenerys is brought back to life doesn't mean she'll be the same Daenerys everyone knew. The Children of the Forest are responsible for the Night King, turning a human into an almost unstoppable zombie. Could Drogon have potentially taken Daenerys North of the Wall to the Children of the Forest so she could be turned into the Night Queen? It's unlikely that The Children of the Forest would want to create another living vs. the dead war unless they need protection against the First Men again. The pushed dragon glass into the heart of a First Man to create the White Walkers in the first place so their tribes wouldn't be slaughtered and their sacred trees would be saved.
