Where Is Michael Jackson's Ex-Wife, Lisa Marie Presley Today?

Michael Jackson was married to Elvis Presley's only daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, in 1994, and the pair had their share of iconic moments before their divorce in 1996. Many, however, thought their marriage was a ploy. Rumors circulated Jackson's press team told him to find a wife, so he asked Presley, as a friend, to marry him. Regardless of the reasoning, their relationship fell apart in 1996, and Jackson quickly remarried Debbie Rowe, with whom he had two children.

Now, allegations of sexual abuse by Jackson against children are resurfacing in a new HBO documentary, Leaving Neverland. Jackson and those around him have long denied those allegations. He went to court over one account involving a 13-year-old boy, but in 2005 he was acquitted.

So where is Presley now? And what has she said about her marriage to Jackson?

Presley has long denied her relationship with Jackson was nonromantic. The marriage, which lasted 20 months, was filled with public displays of affection, notably at the 1994 MTV Video Music Awards where they shared an onstage kiss.

Jackson died in 2009, and Presley revealed details about their relationship in a grieving post on MySpace, according to MTV. "Our relationship was not 'a sham' as is being reported in the press," she wrote. "It was an unusual relationship yes, where two unusual people who did not live or know a 'normal life' found a connection, perhaps with some suspect timing on his part. Nonetheless, I do believe he loved me as much as he could love anyone, and I loved him very much. I wanted to 'save him.' I wanted to save him from the inevitable which is what has just happened."

Presley's letter also spoke of Jackson predicting his own death. He compared his possible end to Presley's father's, Elvis, who overdosed on drugs. "At some point he paused, he stared at me very intensely and he stated with an almost calm certainty, 'I am afraid that I am going to end up like him, the way he did,'" she wrote. "I promptly tried to deter him from the idea, at which point he just shrugged his shoulders and nodded almost matter of fact as if to let me know, he knew what he knew and that was kind of that."

She spoke with Oprah Winfrey in 2010 about the end of the relationship, and the involvement drugs had in their parting. "Michael wasn't a bad person because that's how he functioned," Presley explained. "He didn't know any better. I took it very personally, though. I felt I was disposable. You know?"

Now, Presley is a mother to four. Since Jackson, Presley has married and divorced both actor Nicolas Cage and guitarist Michael Lockwood. Much of her adult life has been focused on a music career. She released her last album in 2012.
