Meet Jamie Fraser's Son, William Ransom

Vanervaart takes on the role of Jamie Fraser's son, William Ransom. When audiences meet William in Outlander Season 7, he will be an adult.

William is the ninth Earl of Ellesmere, and completely unknown to him, highlander Jamie Fraser is his real father.

The character of William was introduced in Season 3 as the illegitimate son Jamie fathered with Geneva Dunsany (Hannah James).

When Geneva and William's supposed father, Ludovic Ransom, died, Jamie's close friend Lord John Grey (David Berry) and his wife Isobel (Tanya Reynolds), who was Geneva's sister, raised him.

William also made an appearance in Season 4 as a young boy, visiting Jamie and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) at their new home in Fraser's Ridge in the colonies.

By Outlander Season 7, Willie is now an adult who arrives in Wilmington with plans to join the British Army with the goal to put an end to the unrest in the British colonies. However, judging by the events of Outlander Season 6, he risks fighting on the opposite side of his blood family.
