Social media star Arzaylea Rodriguez took to Instagram after the death of New York rapper Lil Peep. The 21-year-old was found dead on Wednesday on his tour bus. It had stopped in Arizona, TMZ reported on Thursday. Peep struggled with drug abuse and depression.
Rodriguez, 23, shared a screenshot of a conversation she had with the rapper in which they talked about their love. "I can't wait for you to be all mine and imma pamper you. I want you to be happy and I'm going to help you get there. I am genuinely, truly yours," she wrote.
Peep answered, "Well I love u too bitch. I'm tryna run the world. Let's get it."
"I can't believe I'm writing this. You're in my heart. I'm always yours. I don't have words to express what you've done for me in such little time. I love you so much. You live forever in me," Rodriguez said in the caption. "I don't know how to do any of this without you now... I love you so much. I want to wake up from this nightmare."
"My dreams show dimensions of us that don't exist in this consciousness, but an alternate reality is where I'd rather be," she wrote in a November 4 picture of them together.
Peep, whose birth name was Gustav Ahr, released his first album, Come Over When You're Sober (Part One) in August.
Sarah Stennett, the CEO of First Access Entertainment, confirmed Peep's death. "I am shocked and heartbroken. I do not believe Peep wanted to die, this is so tragic. He had huge ambition, and his career was flourishing," she said. "I have spoken to his mother, and she asked me to convey that she is very, very proud of him and everything he was able to achieve in his short life."
Stars in the industry like Diplo, Post Malone and DJ Marshmello took to Twitter to mourn the rapper.
"In the short time that I knew you, you were a great friend to me and a great person. Your music changed the world and it'll never be the same. I love you bud. Forever," Post Malone wrote.
DJ Marshmello posted, "Peep was the nicest person. Hanging out with him, talking to him about music, the song ideas we were going to do together and touring was so amazing. Everyone will miss you man."
While it's suspected Peep died from a drug overdose, the cause of death was not immediately known.
