A server at a Sup Dogs restaurant in North Carolina has described her shock after receiving a $10,000 from a man who ordered just two glasses of water.

Alaina Custer was working a regular weekend shift at the restaurant when she spotted a note on the table from the man she had just served reading "thanks for the delicious water," along with the massive wad of cash.

"I literally didn't think it was real," Custer told The News and Observer. "I picked it up and it was a giant stack of hundreds. I was shaking and just kept asking Bret [Oliverio, owner of the Sup Dogs] 'What is this?' I thought someone was playing a joke on me."

It was later revealed that the tipper was YouTube star MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson), known for his videos featuring extreme acts of generosity, including donating $30,000 to random Twitch streamers, or tipping a pizza deliver guy $10,000.

"He said he wants everyone to know that good things still happen to good people," Oliverio told WRAL. "I thought it was pretty cool. I think he wanted to make someone's day and wanted to get that 'wow' factor."

Custer, a student at East Carolina University, said she kept $800 and split the rest of the tip with her co-workers, reported WPXI.

Custer said when Donaldson left his table after taking just a couple of sips from the water, two other men stayed behind to record her reaction. However, she was in such shock after seeing the money on the table that she "didn't even realize he was filming until after," reports The News and Observer.

The clip does not appear to have been uploaded to his popular YouTube page yet.

In a MrBeast compilation video, Donaldson, who has nearly nine million YouTube subscribers, is shown tipping several waitresses a total of $20,000 at a variety of bars and restaurants, including one woman who received a $500 tip after he and his friends ordered some jalapeno water for $1.06.

As well as handing out vast sums of money, Donaldson also uploads videos of himself performing extreme stunts or endurance tests, including a video of him reading the dictionary in one sitting for more than seven hours or seeing what happens when you microwave a microwave.

20-year-old Donaldson currently lives in Greenville, North Carolina, and has been posting videos to his popular channel for the past six years. His early videos mainly consisted of tutorials and guides for games such as Minecraft and Pokemon, before branching out into other areas such as gaming compilations and explainers such as "How Much Money Does Bill Gates Make/Have."

Donaldson also has a second account called "Mr.Beast" (with a period) which consists of clips of him playing the hugely popular online battle royale game Fortnite.

Donaldson's videos have surpassed more than one billion views since he created his MrBeast YouTube account on February 2012, according to his official stats.
