Who's Going to Be the Next 'Bachelor'? Fans Speculate Who Will Follow Hannah Brown's Season

Fans of The Bachelorette still have two episodes to wait before they learn who Hannah Brown selected to receive the final rose, but they've already started speculating who will pick up the show's baton and become the next Bachelor.

Over the past almost two decades, The Bachelor franchise has developed a massive fan base and in 2003, ABC debuted the premiere season of The Bachelorette. Now, the network alternates seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, often pulling scorned cast members of one of the shows to lead the other.

Brown first appeared on The Bachelor during Colton Underwood's season, but their relationship ended after she met his family. Months later, fans got to see her get a second chance at love and on Tuesday, she'll give out her final rose.

Following the conclusion of Brown's season, The Bachelor franchise drama will continue with Bachelor in Paradise, another spin-off from the original show. At times, the next leading cast member is announced at the After the Final Rose special, however, for some seasons, fans have had to wait weeks. Despite a whole show to get through before The Bachelor airs in 2020, fans have already made a few guesses as to who will be looking for love.

On the top of the list is Mike Johnson, who Brown eliminated during the July 1 episode. It's not just fans of the show who want to see him take the lead, Brown even offered her support for the choice.

"Mike is somebody who can be very vulnerable and open and his real true self. I think that is really important as the lead. I know that he is also very fun to be around," Brown told Hollywood Life. "He is great — and he has a really great smile, too! It'd be fun to see that."

Some speculated that Johnson wouldn't get the opportunity to be The Bachelor because he would appear on Bachelor in Paradise. However, others noted that Underwood was also cast on Bachelor in Paradise before going on to lead his own show.

Tyler Cameron is still in the running for Brown's heart, but if he doesn't end up with The Bachelorette many fans are hoping he gets his own shot at love.

Another front runner is Peter Weber, who was the man from the iconic windmill sex story. Ahead of the final episodes, Weber was still gunning for the final rose so his potential to be the next Bachelor could be cut if Brown chooses him. Although, it wouldn't be the first time someone was given the final rose and then went on to star in their own season.

Host Chris Harrison told Entertainment Tonight that there are a "lot of good contenders" for the next Bachelor season.

"I think it's gonna be all of us in a room screaming for our favorite, fighting for our version of TV that we want to make," Harrison said.

After 18 years, in 2012, Harrison announced that he and his wife were getting a divorce. He told E! News it was the "most difficult part" of his life and said being a bachelor scared "the holy hell" out of him. However, a few people on Twitter suggested he take the leading spot on the upcoming season of The Bachelor.
