Sunday School Teacher Shoots Husband Dead for Subscribing to Porn Channel for Third Time

A woman in Arkansas who became so enraged when her husband ordered a satellite TV porn channel that she shot and killed him has been convicted of second-degree murder.

Prosecutors said Patricia Hill, 65, from Pine Bluff, near Little Rock, had previously canceled the X-rated channel twice before. She fatally shot Frank Hill, 69, after finding out he had resubscribed to the channel.

The Jefferson County Court heard how she confronted her husband, her third, in a shed he had set up as a “man cave” at the back of their house. She then went to get a .22-caliber pistol.

Hill, who was a churchgoer, a Sunday school teacher and had worked as a nurse for more than five decades, was unable to explain why she shot at her husband, The Pine Bluff Commercial reported.

The victim had gunshot wounds to his leg and his head. A subscription TV bill was found on the floor.

Her attorney, Bill James, told KATV: “The stressors of being with her husband just basically caused her to snap.

“We had our doctor look at her and he agrees that it was a dissociative episode, a very quick one, and now it's up to a jury to decide that."

She had pleaded not guilty, claiming that she considered pornography as “a personal affront to her and to her God” and that “her reality snapped” when she found her husband had resubscribed to the X-rated channel.

“She told him over and over again to stop, and he said he would but went right back to doing it,” James said.

Patricia’s daughter Andrea Cheshire said, according to KATV: “I've never been away from her for more than two weeks in my whole life, without hugging her and kissing her and telling her I love her, it's been hard.”

In another shooting incident, a Florida man was charged with murder after shooting dead a man who was offering to pay for people’s meals at a Waffle House.

Ezekiel Hicks, 25, got into an argument with Craig Brewer, 41, at the Waffle House in the city of Gainesville, northern Florida, according to Alachua County Sheriff. A woman at the waffle house became angry when Brewer, who was handing out $20 bills, did not pay for her meal.

Hicks then left the restaurant, armed himself with a 9mm handgun and shot the victim after they got into an altercation, police said.
