A woman's cheeky ploy to get out of a bad date by faking a positive COVID test has gone viral since it was uploaded onto the social media platform TikTok.
Most of us have had a bad date that runs over far too long and are often too nervous to share how we really feel with the other person, choosing instead to fake an excuse to duck out early.
Well, British TikTok user @tin.tin__1 shared her fake excuse, which took full advantage of the COVID-era we find ourselves in.
In a reply to another TikTok user, tin.tin__1 revealed what she did to get out of the date with the response: "Literally it was so bad I faked a positive covid test so I could go home hahaha."
When the video started, tin.tin__1 spoke to the camera and added: "It was probably the worst f***ing date I have ever been on in my life.
"And to get out of it, 'cause I was like 'I need to leave' I could not spend any more time here.
"I went to the toilet and got my friend to send me a fake COVID, like, positive test and I changed her name to the NHS.
"Then I went down, from the toilet, and was like: 'Oh my God look, you're not going to believe it but I've tested positive.'"
"He was like: 'What are you going to do?' And I was like: 'Well, I'm going to have to go home.'"

She then went on to show the fake NHS [National Health Service] text which was similar to ones sent to people in Britain who test positive for the virus.
But there was a final twist in the tale, with the Brit admitting she later met up with another man and ended up having sex with him.
Since being uploaded on January 8, the clip has been viewed more than 286,900 times and has been liked on some 30,400 occasions.
Commenters were quick to share their thoughts about tin.tin__1's antics, with many praising her decision.
One TikTok user said: "Hahaha, you are an icon."
Another added: "Thus [this] girl is living her best life and I'm here for it."
A third commented: "Girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do."
But some commenters were sympathetic to her date, with one adding: "Nah, this lad will see this [crying emoji]. Why can't you just say it's not going well and be honest."
Many women have shared their dating stories on TikTok, with users lapping up any new bit of gossip they stumble onto.
Last year, TikTok user @.lifeisahighway420 found numerous items such as perfume, a hairbrush and a pregnancy test in her date's bathroom.
Commenters urged her to find out if her date was in a relationship, while others were concerned that she would go through his belongings.
