A woman rushed to the vet after discovering her dog refused to eat, as any owner would, but $500 later learned the problem wasn't as serious as she thought.
The owner, known on TikTok as @thecondits, was devastated when her Rottweiler wouldn't touch her food. Tears streaming down her face, the dog parent thought her dog was "dying." But a July 13 TikTok video posted to her account revealed that, thankfully, wasn't what was happening.
It turned out that this gentle giant had a case of pickiness. Her dog refused to eat her food simply because she didn't like that it switched. The owner wrote in the comment section that she learned her dog only likes the expensive stuff. Knowing she's royalty in the family, this Rottweiler expects the best of everything.

The caption on the video reads: "We created a SPOILED princess running up our bank accounts."
The dog didn't even care how much the vet visit cost. She sat in the back of the car, refusing to look at the owner and probably thinking the whole trip could have been avoided if they hadn't switched to the cheaper stuff in the first place.
Other than realizing her dog is a bit of a princess, the poster wrote in the comment section that her biggest takeaway from the vet visit is to invest in pet insurance.
Newsweek reached out to @thecondits via TikTok for additional comment.
While the owner can breathe a sigh of relief knowing her dog was only being picky, other owners, unfortunately, deal with other issues when their canines don't eat.
There could be several reasons for the lack of eating dog food, including illness, medications, social or emotional issues, owner absence or time of day, the American Kennel Club (AKC) reported.
To avoid running into a problem like this dog owner did, the AKC recommends switching your dog's type of food and exposing them to different options. Having alternatives comes in handy in case their favorite goes off the market or gets recalled.

'So Dramatic'
The dog's diagnosis quickly went viral on TikTok, bringing in more than 1.7 million views, 189,100 likes and 586 comments as of Wednesday.
"Omg she's so cute! But why are girl dogs so dramatic," one viewer wrote.
This isn't the only dog who believes she runs the house. Others shared the pettiness of their dogs. One commented: "My girl dog went on [a] food strike because I didn't have her bowls in the right spot."
Another added: "My dog will not eat unless her bowl is brought to her. She chooses where she's gonna eat."
