Anti-Masker Yelling 'Let's Go Brandon' Kicked Off Plane, Arrested by Police

Las Vegas Metro police have arrested a woman at McCarran International Airport following a disturbance on a plane.

An arrest report seen by KXAN-TV says Katrina Alspaugh, of Las Vegas, was charged with violating airport rules after the incident Sunday.

Police officers were called to Terminal 1 after Alspaugh refused to wear a mask onboard an Allegiant Air flight.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued an order on January 29, requiring face masks to be worn by travelers to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

This includes during aircraft travel, unless the individual is subject to an exemption.

When officers arrived to confront Alspaugh she was standing on the jet bridge after being removed from the plane by an airline worker.

The woman continued to cause a scene while being escorted away by officers in a wheelchair.

According to police, Alspaugh yell obscenities alongside the phrase "let's go Brandon" before being arrested

Alspaugh was later booked at the Clark County Detention Center.

Newsweek has reached out to the Las Vegas Metro police and McCarran International Airport for comment.

"Let's go Brandon" is a meme popular among those who oppose President Joe Biden.

It became popular after a sportscaster mistook what NASCAR race fans were chanting at the Talladega Superspeedway for the Sparks 300 race.

The winner of the race was Brandon Brown to which the sportscaster believed the crowd was chanting "let's go Brandon" rather than "f**k Joe Biden."

Trump addressed the phrase earlier this month while at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

Trump criticized Joe Biden and his time as president during an event for the America First Policy Institute.

After chants of "let's go Brandon" he said: "I still like the first phrase better, somehow more accurate."

Earlier this week, a woman was also detained after an incident at an airport, this time at the Sky Harbor International Airport in Nevada.

A video, which has now gone viral on TikTok, showed a woman draped in a Trump flag confronting a woman with her phone out.

After repeated questions of whether she was being recorded the Trump supporter knocked the latter's phone out of her hand.

The video showed that almost immediately security descended on her and remarked that she did not have the right to knock people's phones out of their hands.

After being contacted by Newsweek, Phoenix Police confirmed the incident but remarked that the woman was not arrested after being detained.

They said: "On November 21, 2021 at about 8:30 a.m., Phoenix Police officers assigned to the Sky Harbor International Airport responded to a call near Terminal 3 regarding a disturbance.

"They observed a female yelling, while another female was recording her. The female then slapped the phone out of the hand of the victim's hand.

"The woman was detained by police. The victim did not wish to press charges, so the incident was documented and no arrest was made."
