There is nothing like the newfound freedom that babies experience when they first start crawling, but it can be a stressful time for parents.
A young mom shared the heart-stopping moment when her baby disappeared from her crib while she stepped away for a few brief moments. While her daughter was playing in her cot, Olivia Dewsnap, 20, took her opportunity to go to the toilet, but when she returned, Aurora was nowhere to be seen.

"I heard banging on the window, so I looked around the curtain, and that's when I found her," Dewsnap told Newsweek.

It turns out that baby Aurora had managed to climb out of her crib and was found by Dewsnap peering out from behind the curtain.
To ensure she wouldn't try to escape again, Dewsnap put Aurora back in her crib and moved it away from the window when she stopped recording.
"The same day I bought her bedding for her cot bed on next-day delivery so she could move into her own bedroom, and we would have no more disappearing acts," the mom of one said.
The video, originally intended for Aurora's father, has been viewed over 467,000 times since it was posted on July 4.

Reactions from other users on social media were divided, with some criticizing Dewsnap for the placement of her baby's crib.
Many parents, on the other hand, could relate to the unpredictable nature of crawling babies.
One TikTok user wrote: "I would blink and my child would be stood on the kitchen side. Like how."
Another commented that they too had left their baby to go to the toilet; they came back and seemingly lost him momentarily. "He rolled under the sofa," the TikTok user said.
Dewsnap pointed out the split reaction in the comments section and said that half the users called her a bad mom.
"The other half are seeing the funny side to it and telling me their baby has done the same," she told Newsweek.
Dewsnap, from the East Midlands city of Leicester in the U.K., said that this was the first time Aurora had pulled off such an escape, which inspired her to capture the footage in the first place.
"That was the first, and last time, she ever did that, which is why I took the video [because] I was in disbelief at where she was," Dewsnap added.
