A woman has left internet users doing a double take after claiming her sister-in-law had her husband’s "biological baby."

Lisa McAloon, 37, shared a reel on Instagram (@lisa.mcaloon), which sparked confusion among users. She wrote on the text overlay: "When your sister-in-law went and had your husband’s biological baby."

McAloon explained that her husband Jason, also 37, is an identical twin, meaning he and his brother Josh share the same genetic makeup. "Because he and his identical twin share the same DNA, there’s no real way to tell who the dad [is] on a DNA test," Lisa told Newsweek.

Essentially, DNA testing alone can’t distinguish between the two men as biological father.

The family setup, Lisa said, often surprises people. She and Jason—who have been together for 21 years—share three children, with another on the way.

The parents are traveling in an RV with their children full time, though they are originally from Seekonk, Massachusetts.

Jason’s twin brother, Josh, is married to Janelle, Lisa's sister-in-law, and they have five children of their own.

"All our kids come up as half-siblings on a DNA test, and there is no way to tell which is actually the dad," Lisa said. "Although we obviously know," she added.

Lisa’s reel has clocked up almost 500,000 views. In the comments, users were trying to guess what the cryptic caption meant.

"You two have husbands that are twins?" one posted, while another asked, "Isn’t there a triplet?"

One user said the reel hit close to home, commenting that a similar situation would apply in their own family—and that they already have a niece who is technically their biological daughter.

"I'm trying to think of anything to say but I'm just flabbergasted," another wrote.

Lisa has found the reactions entertaining, with some even making allegations of cheating.

"The reactions have been so funny," she said. "Most people don't read the caption, so they think I mean my sister-in-law and husband slept together, which is not the case at all."

Others understood the genetics but still felt misled, while many simply found the wording hilarious.

In everyday life, the family leans into the unusual genetics with humor. "My husband is called Uncle Daddy because of it," Lisa said. "My nieces and nephews call him that and call me Auntie Mommy."

She added that the topic often sparks debate online: "Every time we post about it, people argue in the comments and don’t believe it."
