Woman Who Tattooed Her Eyeballs Blue Was Left Blind For Three Weeks

A woman who tattooed her eyeballs said she has no regrets—even though it left her blind for three weeks.

Amber Luke, from Brisbane, Australia, told Barcroft TV the process of having the sclera of her eyeballs inked with a bright blue color was so painful it felt like shards of glass were being rubbed into her eyes.

But the 24-year-old model doesn't mind pain as she has around 200 tattoos inked onto her body since she was 16.

Luke, who describes herself on Instagram as "Blues Eyes White Dragon" and an "infamous lunatic", said she wants her entire body covered in tattoos by the time she turns 25.

Her eyeball tattooing procedure left her blind for three weeks because her tattoo artists went too deep into her eyeballs with the needle, she said.

"That was pretty brutal," she told Barcroft TV. "Once the eyeball was penetrated with the ink it felt like he grabbed 10 shards of glass and rubbed it in my eye."

She added: "Unfortunately, my artist went too deep into my eyeball. If your eyeball procedure's done correctly you're not supposed to go blind at all."

Luke's mother Vikki revealed she had cried when her daughter told her she had tattooed her eyeballs because of the risky nature of it. "Why would you do that to yourself when I suppose there is danger to it?" she said, according to PerthNow.

But she said she supports her daughter's decisions and is "proud of her."

Last month, Luke revealed that she plans to become a tattoo artist herself. Alongside a picture of the first tattoo she has done, she wrote on Instagram: "I know my lines are not great, but hey everyone's gotta start somewhere. I plan to practice everyday, gain an apprenticeship and start my career in tattooing."

Luke got her first tattoo at the age of 16 after being diagnosed with clinical depression at 15, according to Barcroft TV.

Getting her first tattoo felt like a "negative energy release" for her and so she continued. She's had her eyebrows and lips tattooed as well as winged eyeliner inked onto her eyelids.

She said she plans to have her body fully covered in ink by her 25th birthday in March next year.

And tattoos aren't the only changes Luke has made to her body. She has also had a breast augmentation and had fillers injected into her lips and cheeks. She has also shown off her split tongue and the silver grills in the shape of fangs fitted to her teeth on her Instagram page.

For now, she has no plans for extreme body modifications—but does intend to undergo a procedure known as a Brazilian butt lift.

"I chose to look this way," she told Barcroft TV. "I would like to see in the future, a bit more open-mindedness when it comes to body modifications and tattooing."
