Today's 'Wordle' Clues, Hints and #381 Answer for Tuesday, July 5

Whether it's the fact that it provides us a new challenge daily or that it's truly difficult at times, Wordle has indisputably become one of the most popular digital puzzles.

Several similar games have emerged in its wake, including Quordle, Squabble and Herdle.

The puzzle requires you to guess a five-letter word in six attempts or less, and the clues provided are all color-coded. If you haven't tried it yet, you can access the daily word game for free here.

The Origins of 'Wordle'

The online game was originally created by software engineer Josh Wardle, for his partner Palak Shah, so that they could play it together. It was launched in the height of the Covid-19 pandemic and quickly gained popularity.

He made the game public in October 2021, and it started out with just 90 active players, which quickly grew into over 45 million users.

It was then later bought in January 2022 by the New York Times Company for a reported seven-figure sum.
