Today's 'Wordle' Guide: #357 Answer and Clues for Saturday, June 11 Puzzle

Newsweek has some hints to get you over the line in today's Wordle, the puzzle that has become the daily fix for millions worldwide.

The rules are simple but getting the answer can be hard. You have to get a five-letter word in six attempts. If the tile goes green, you have the right letter in the right place. If you get a correct letter, but in the wrong part of the word, it turns yellow. Any letter that is not in the word turns gray.

At the end of the game, a statistics box shows your track record which you can share with others.

Software engineer Josh Wardle started work on the game in 2013 and completed it with the help of his partner, Palak Shah, during a COVID-19 lockdown. The game draws on a well of around 2,500 words, or seven years' worth of puzzles.

Launched with a title that puns on Wardle's name, the game was initially played by only a few dozen people when it was released to the public in October 2021. It gained a global reach when bought by The New York Times and within a few months, it is now enjoyed and pored over by tens of millions of people.

Wardle's creation has also inspired other daily puzzles like the globe-trotting guessing game Worldle and the math-based Nerdle.
