XFL Team Names and Logos: From the New York Guardians to the Seattle Dragons

The XFL finally revealed the names and logos of the eight inaugural teams.

While the original iteration of the XFL also had eight teams, many of the host cities have changed. Las Vegas, Orlando, Memphis, Birmingham, Chicago, and San Francisco were part of the league in the past, but the 2020 version will see Houston, Dallas, Tampa Bay, Washington D.C., Seattle and St. Louis replace them.

Major cities like Los Angeles and New York return with drastically new names and logos.

Here are the eight XFL teams with their just-announced names, logos and everything you need to know about them.

NEW YORK GUARDIANS

The New York Guardians will play at MetLife Stadium, the same venue as the NFL's New York Jets and New York Giants. In the previous iteration of the XFL, the New York/New Jersey team were called the Hitmen.

LOS ANGELES WILDCATS

Los Angeles went many years without a professional football team, and now they'll add a third to its ranks with the XFL's Wildcats. In the first iteration of the XFL, the Los Angeles team was known as the Xtreme.

The Wildcats will play at the StubHub Center, the home of the MLS team, the LA Galaxy.

DALLAS RENEGADES

The Dallas Renegades will call the new stadium, Globe Life Park, home in 2020. While not in Dallas proper, the team will be based in Arlington, TX. This brand-new retractable roof venue will also play host to the MLB's Texas Rangers.

HOUSTON ROUGHNECKS

Joining Dallas are the Houston Roughnecks. This team will play at TDECU Stadium, the home of the University of Houston college football team

TAMPA BAY VIPERS

The Tampa Bay Vipers will call Raymond James Stadium home. This is also where the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the NCAA South Florida Bulls play.

WASHINGTON D.C. DEFENDERS

The Defenders will play at Audi Field, which is the home of the D.C. United MLS team.

SEATTLE DRAGONS

Seattle is known for having the rowdiest fanbases in all of sports, and now they'll have another team to cheer for in the XFL's Seattle Dragons. The Dragons will play at CenturyLink Field, the home of the NFL's Seattle Seahawks and the MLS' Seattle Sounders FC.

ST. LOUIS BATTLEHAWKS

The Battlehawks will play at The Dome at America's Center. This venue was the home for the Rams before they moved to Los Angeles.
