'You're Not a Genius': Internet Slams Kanye West's New Social Media Post

The internet slammed Kanye West's new social media post. People have been calling out his behavior throughout the divorce process between he and Kim Kardashian.

West posted to his Instagram's 15.2 million followers on March 8 and the comments are anything but supportive. The post entailed a cryptic photo with "DEAD" in a bold red font and lyrics written underneath. West called "DEAD" his new creation.

Written in the description, West discussed his definition of art.

"I feel already compromised that I have to justify my expression after over 20 years of art that I've contributed to the planet but I also see the need to make sure we as a species are allowed to still feel anything Men not allowed to cry celebrities not allowed to cry," he began.

"Art is subjective Art only works when it is the artist absolute truth Someone's truth can be another persons lie We don't all have to feel the same because we are not the same."

Many of West's loyal fans showed love and sympathy to the rapper. However, many others showed concern and anger towards him.

"We're rebranding abuse as art now," laurahesp said.

"You're nuts...your 'art' involves the expressed burial of a real person that you continually harass and stalk. Your 'art' is a depiction of his death...therefore you have no rights to your so-called "art"...you're not a genius, you're a jealous a**hole man child who is acting out because he can't get what he wants. Freak," another user wrote.

"While I admire you immensely as a artist .. I must say that from the outside looking in, it seems as though you're using your art as kind of strategic way to evade your accountability in how you've been harassing and extremely gaslighting Kim... and as an artist and even a fan of yours, it's incredibly distasteful and shows how an artist can construe a whole narrative, at the cost of weaponizing their own art. Absolutely damaging. Fr," bronx.baddie_ commented.

"You could have picked anyone on the planet for your ridiculous video but you intentionally picked Pete to be hurtful, disrespectful, and vengeful. If you call burying your ex wife's boyfriend alive art, I'll pass. If you wanted to be deep, you could have played both parts yourself. You're lost in so many ways," rhondagkpr6 added.

Tuledo said, "After all the bullying and negativity that you have presented its hard to conceive the art the way you want us to."

"There's no mystery or magic to it, you're straight up bullying Pete Davidson and harassing your ex wife because you didn't get your way. That's not being a 'genius' or 'creative.' That's just being straight up immature and dumb. I don't even feel bad for Kanye anymore," Johannadesantis said.
