YouTuber Corey La Barrie Dies After L.A. Car Crash, 'Ink Master' Contestant Daniel Silva Arrested for Murder

YouTube star Corey La Barrie died following a car crash on his 25th birthday in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday, and celebrity tattoo artist Daniel Silva has been arrested on suspicion of murder over the death.

The fatal incident was confirmed by the content creator's mother Lissa Burton in an Instagram post on Monday.

"My heart breaks right now, on my sons 25 birthday today...The accident killed him instantly," she wrote.

"No words can describe the sadness I feel in loosening a child. It just feels so unreal and I'm overwhelmed with grief. I love you so much Corey and will miss you so so much. It's just so unfair."

La Barrie's popular YouTube channel had more than 335,000 subscribers and he was also known as one half of a YouTube duo alongside his friend and collaborator Crawford Collins. They regularly shared videos consisting of everything from pranks to house tours and general internet comedy.

La Barrie's brother Jarrad also posted an emotional tribute, writing: "I miss you so much already this isn't fair thank you for always being the best big brother i could ask for i love you so fucking much life's never gonna be the same without you."

Celebrity tattoo artist Daniel Joseph Silva of Ink Master fame has been arrested following the incident.

The arrest was confirmed by the Los Angeles Police Department in a statement on Monday.

"The Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division announce the arrest of Daniel Joseph Silva, a 27-year-old driver and resident of Los Angeles for murder," said the police department.

"On Sunday, May 10, 2020, around 9:39 p.m., a 2020 McLaren 600LT was traveling eastbound on Huston Street at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control. Driver then ran off the road and collided with a stop sign and a tree on the northeast corner of Huston Street and Carpenter Avenue."

Both La Barrie and Silva were taken to a local hospital following the incident, however, the YouTuber later died from his injuries.

La Barrie posted what would be his last video to YouTube on Saturday, and fans have been paying tribute to his life in the comments.

One mourner shared a heartfelt message, writing: "Rest in paradise angel, your positivity and laughter will never be forgotten. Thank you for making me smile in the hardest of times."
