League of Legends has announced its newest champion, the adorable Yuumi. Though news of the support leaked earlier in the week, this is the first real look we've gotten at the magical cat. She's a unique support that can aid her allies in battle in a way that's never been tried before: by going intangible and joining forces with a friendly champion. Yuumi is the first companion champion in the game, straight from Bandle City and similar to Lulu's Pix.

...
Like Soraka and Sona but with more survivability, Yummi's job is to poke enemies and heal allies. She has a single slow and AOE rooting ultimate, but will die very quickly if targeted down. Jumping to the aid of her teammates will save her soul, but limits who she can heal or damage. If she's popular, she will be played like Taric; placing shields and healing the squishy Marksmen before letting everyone else deal the damage.

Here is her full ability kit straight from Riot Games:
Passive - Bop 'n' Block
Every so often, Yuumi's next attack against an opponent restores mana and grants her a shield. If Yuumi is Attached, the shield protects her ally. The shield protects Yuumi or her ally until it's broken.
Q - Prowling Projectile
Yuumi fires a missile that deals magic damage to the first enemy hit. If the missile is in flight long enough, it deals bonus damage and slows enemies.
While Attached, Yuumi fires a missile from her ally's position and can direct the missile's flight path with her mouse.

...
W - You and Me!
Passive: While Attached, Yuumi and her ally gain a percent of each other's AD or AP converted to Adaptive Force.
Active: Yuumi starts with a point in her W. She dashes to an ally champion and attaches to them. While Attached, she follows her partner's movement and is untargetable by everything except tower damage. Yuumi's abilities fire from her ally's location, and she can't attack enemies. She can Unattach after a cooldown or Attach to another teammate with no cooldown.
E - Zoomies
Yuumi heals and gains a burst of movement speed. If Attached, her ally is targeted by the spell instead. This spell has two charges.
R - Final Chapter
Yuumi opens Book, launching waves of magic damage that root enemies after multiple hits. While using her ult, Yuumi can move, attach to ally champions, and heal.

...
It's hard to tell how Yuumi will affect the meta. She's a champion that seems super versatile on paper and may even find her calling in professional games of League of Legends , but the average player will struggle with her. You have to rely mostly on your ally knowing how to position themselves so both of you don't get to caught by a Thresh hook or Blitzcrank grab. That's giving two kills over to the enemy bot lane for the price of one.
Yuumi and her book friend look legitimately fun to play and will anger many a duo partner over the next few months. As players get used to figuring out the champion, we will either see more friendly duos or she will be banned to keep your allies from picking her.
Yuumi will hit the PBE on April 30 and will be on the live servers on May 14.
