Zack Snyder's 'Justice League' Reveal Hints at New Scenes for Superman, Batman and Martian Manhunter

Zack Snyder's latest reveal for Justice League hints at potential additional photography in the works for Superman, Batman, Lois Lane and Martian Manhunter, Movieweb reported.

In an event that Snyder personally oversaw, fans were to submit posters and fan-art that best captured the spirit of the Snyder cut of Justice League. Over 1,200 submissions were made across social media and the director narrowed down the winner to four choices on Friday.

On Saturday, the director evolved the conversation around his DC film further when unveiling the prize for the winner. The director is expected to reveal the winner of the event on Sunday, corresponding with his own birthday. An official film slate from the film will go to the winner, with personal inscriptions from the director himself.

"Please extend to the bearer of this slate the right to pass all security protocols and the permission to operate this motion picture scene and sync marker on the set of any additional photography for the motion picture known as Zack Snyder's Justice League in the unlikely and purely speculative event that such photography is needed."

Zack Snyder's Justice League has become mainstream news since last November. The near-constant word of mouth surrounding the film from fans, actors, production crew, fellow directors and Snyder himself has kept the film relevant more than two years after the intended original release. Much has been made about the status of the film in terms of completion.

On the front of the film slate described the potential additional sequences, boldly stating "something cool with Batman, Superman, [Lois] or Martian Manhunter." In the section that would say what take the shoot was in, it said: 'However many it takes to get it awesome.'

There are many implications on the film slate that Snyder shared. The director has a trademark style of being cryptic in his teases for the film, letting the fans crack the code themselves. It appears that Snyder wants to shoot an additional scene or two involving Superman, Batman, Lois, and Martian Manhunter. The winner of the poster event would theoretically be invited to set during the day it would be shot.

While Snyder does leave a "in the unlikely and purely speculative event" hedge, potentially to walk around some NDAs, the opportunity for the winner would be like getting the 'Golden Ticket' to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. The more interesting factor is the status of Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck as Superman and Batman respectively.

While Cavill is aiming to return as Superman, his contract status has been up in the air for a few years. Affleck, on the other hand, recently closed the door on returning as Batman for a film. On the flipside, Affleck and Snyder are close and Affleck went on record to say he would do anything for his former director. If Snyder got the go-ahead from Warner Bros. to put the finishing touches on his Justice League film, it would not be out of the realm of possibility that Affleck returns to finish a sequence that would give his character a proper send-off.

When Zack Snyder's Justice League sees the light of day remains to be seen. But with HBO Max on the horizon, the film can find a potential home on the streaming service.
