'Zack Snyder's Justice League': What We Learned About The 'Snyder Cut' from the Accidental Leak

The 'Snyder Cut' of Justice League (or to use its actual title, Zack Snyder's Justice League), was briefly available for some HBO Max viewers who tried to watch Tom & Jerry on the service.

Some fans have said they were able to watch over an hour of the new version of the 2017 movie until the streaming survive removed the movie, and other users posted clips from the film onto Twitter.

Though nearly all of the images and videos from the Snyder Cut leak have been taken down by Warner Bros. with copyright takedown notices, many were able to see them before they were taken down, meaning we now have an idea of some of what happens in the movie.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Zack Snyder's Justice League

One Twitter video showed around 45 seconds of what many have said is a scene from towards the end of the movie.

A poster in the DCEUleaks Reddit summed up the scene as follows: "Batman, Mera, Joker, Flash, Deathstroke and Cyborg are all chilling in the Knightmare timeline and then Superman drops out of the sky looking a healthy shade of p***** off. Mera, Flash and Cyborg into position to fight, Bats looks worried, Deathstroke stares and Joker laughs hysterically."

Another, meanwhile, revealed that: "The knightmare scene is the ending. Bruce wakes up and meets Martian manhunter. Massive cliffhanger."

In the clip, which was captioned: "WB be like the Snyder Cut of Justice League is so s***, let's leak it under Tom & Jerry's name," we see that the "healthy shade of p***** off" Superman (played by Henry Cavill) is being controlled by Darkseid (Ray Porter), and the assembled team is getting ready to fight him.

In this scene, we see some of the cosmetic changes Snyder has made to the film, with The Flash (Ezra Miller) seen in altered armor and Mera (Amber Heard) seen with Aquaman's (Jason Momoa) trident. In the leaked scene, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) wakes up just as Superman (Henry Cavill) is about to unleash his heat vision.

These changes were previously confirmed by an exhibition in Dallas, which featured costumes from the Knightmare timeline, including the new Flash armor. This exhibition also featured outfits worn by Jared Leto as the Joker in this Knightmare sequence, including guns previously owned by Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie).

As fans who have followed the saga of Zack Snyder's Justice League will know, the Knightmare timeline is a dystopian future that was first seen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and was meant to play a huge role in the director's version of Justice League. However, when Joss Whedon took over the project, the Knightmare scenes were all removed.

Other scenes that were posted and then taken down include a hostage rescue scene featuring Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) as well as one that showed the battle of Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds) versus the Amazons.

Zack Snyder's Justice League is released on March 18 on HBO Max.
