'Zero Respect': Wife Catches Husband Looking at Other Women in Video Viewed 1.7M Times

A woman sparked an intense debate on social media after sharing a video of her husband looking at images of other women on his phone, presumably oblivious to her watchful eye.

The clip has gone viral since it was shared earlier this month, racking up 1.7 million views, 42,000 likes, and over 3,000 comments. And while many viewers argued that the husband's actions were acceptable, countless others advised her to end the relationship.

Though the issue is defined differently from couple to couple, infidelity, broadly speaking, is one leading cause of divorce. According to a peer-reviewed study published in Couple and Family Psychology, 59.6 percent of respondents cited infidelity as one of their "major contributors for divorce." Other top responses included a lack of commitment and too much conflict.

TikToker @lyjones filmed her now-viral clip from the vantage point of a second-floor balcony inside the couple's home. From above, she has a bird's-eye view of her husband relaxing on the couch, facing away from her and scrolling on his phone.

Also visible from this perspective is his phone screen which, as the woman zooms in, reveals images and videos of several different women. Meanwhile, the husband appears unaware that he is being filmed—and that his wife can see what he is viewing.

"My husband forgot we got a second floor balcony," wrote @lyjones using the video's on-screen text.

While the tone of the video was clearly humorous, viewers flooded the comments section with their mixed reactions to the scene.

Many, for example, felt that the husband's behavior—of looking at pictures and clips of other women on his phone—was not a serious transgression.

"Leave him alone," wrote @coach913. "You do NOT own him."

"Am I the only one not bothered by this?" wondered @ltnprncess. "I look at thirst traps on [TikTok] all day long, doesn't mean I'll cheat."

"I have no issues with my husband doing this," added @brittybrat88.

On the other hand, many viewers felt that the husband had acted blatantly "disrespectful."

"Imagine if men spent as much time trying to please their partners as they did looking at other women," said @uthinkuknomebutyadont.

"Divorce," said @justhere1100. "Zero respect."

"I would take a photo from the balcony and send it to him," quipped @allenallen624.

"It's not okay," commented @cendyjeromedavis. "Don't let people make you feel bad. He's being disrespectful."

"Walk out with grace," advised @brokenrexord.

Newsweek has reached out to @lyjones for further comment but did not receive a response prior to publication.
