Jose Mourinho's search for a new striker may intensify after Major League Soccer (MLS) team LA Galaxy reportedly offered Zlatan Ibrahimovic the largest contract in its history.

Ibrahimovic, 35, has been prolific in his first season at Old Trafford, hitting 26 goals so far. But The Times claims David Beckham's former team is confident it can capture his signature with a multi-million dollar contract.

Ibrahimovic, Sweden's record international goalscorer, has previously been linked with a move to Beckham's proposed Miami-based franchise.

His departure would hasten Mourinho's hunt for a new striker, with the chase for Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann reportedly proving complicated. Reports have linked Andrea Belotti, the Torino striker who is Serie A's top scorer this season, with United, as well as Kylian Mbappe, AS Monaco's highly regarded teenager.
