Fortnite update 4.3 brings Shopping Carts and Mushrooms to Battle Royale. In this guide, we'll tell you a handful of locations to find each item and how to make use of them.
WHAT DO SHOPPING CARTS DO IN 'FORTNITE?'
Shopping Carts have dotted the Battle Royale map for a while now, but now they're essentially a usable vehicle. In that case, what you want to do is go to a location where you think a Shopping Cart might be and interact with it. When you do, you'll see its controls pop up on the screen.

To push the cart and get a speed boost from it, tap the right trigger. To coast with the cart, hold the trigger down. If you want to get inside the back of the cart, click in the right stick. In order to use the Shopping Cart effectively, the secret is to build up momentum by tapping and then releasing it by coasting. While you coast, you have full control over your weapons. It should also be noted that Shopping Carts are designed around Squads too. That means you can have one player push while another one shoots.
Shopping Carts have only been in the game for a few hours, which means concrete combat strategies don't yet exist. That being said, it won't take long for Fortnite's best players to make good use of them.
'FORTNITE' SHOPPING CART LOCATIONS
There are lots of places to find Shopping Carts on the Battle Royale map, and the carts always spawn in the same place every time. If you go to one of these spots and a Shopping Cart isn't there, it's because someone else beat you to it. This isn't every possible location to find one, but this list should have more than enough options to get you started.
- Racetrack: In the curvy Racetrack south of Lonely Lodge, you'll find four carts. They're right by the stairs at the start of the track.
- West of Pleasant: There's a big house with a Vending Machine nearby, and one cart sits in the back by a bunch of tires.

...
- East of Junk Junction: To the east is a new building in the area. The cart is tucked away behind the large trucks.
- Junk Junction: Right as you enter through the south side. There's not much surrounding it but dirt.

...
- West of Loot Lake: A shot distance to the left of the "L" in Loot you'll find a factory. A Shopping Cart waits behind the truck.

...
- Loot Lake: Two carts inside the mansion on the first and second floors
- Dusty Divot: Right by where they're rebuilding Dusty Depot. There's a cart by the fencing near a palm tree.

...
- Retail Row: Seriously just about anywhere. There are at least eight locations in the parking lot, in the store and by the Taco Shop.
- Tilted Towers: Eight more Shopping Carts here too. Loot for them in the lots, by the garage, a cart behind the tower bus and a cart towards the river.
In short, Racetrack, Retail and Tilted are where you want to go to find Shopping Carts. Because there are so many in those spots, we imagine players will scatter them everywhere.
WHAT DO MUSHROOMS DO IN 'FORTNITE?'

...
Mushrooms are basically the shield-based equivalent of the Apples that made their debut a few weeks ago. Consume one of these and you'll get five shield points until you reach 100 percent. They're sitting on the ground, and you just consume them with the push of a button.
'FORTNITE' MUSHROOM LOCATIONS
The 4.3 patch notes help us out by saying players will be able to find Mushrooms in shady, wooded or swampy areas of the Battle Royale map. With that in mind, here are a few exact locations to look if you want to find a Mushroom.
- Moisty Mire: It's not fun to land here, but Mushrooms are all over the place if you're looking to load up on shield.
- Wailing Woods: We've covered swamps, so shaded and wooded are next. Wailing is the biggest forest on the Battle Royale map, so just go there and look around and under the trees. It shouldn't take too long to find what you seek.
- Lonely Lodge: Also lots of shade and trees here too
- Cabins: Any place you see a Cabin is also a solid place to find Mushrooms.
With these named and unnamed spots in mind, your best bet for finding Mushrooms is to hang toward the eastern part of the Battle Royale map. These aren't the most popular destinations right now, but at least you're rewarded for going there.
Fortnite is in early access across PS4, Xbox One, PC and iOS. Shopping Carts and Mushrooms work the same way on all platforms.
