'Animal Crossing's' Thanksgiving Turkey Day Event: Recipes, Rewards & Ingredients

Thanksgiving celebrations will soon be coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, with Nintendo's wholesome title putting on its annual "Turkey Day" event.

For those who are not aware, Animal Crossing is regularly updated with limited-time content to mark special occasions and times of the year. During Halloween, pumpkin harvesting is all the rage, while "Toy Day" sees villagers preparing the island for yuletide festivities

When it comes to Animal Crossing Turkey Day (which you might alternatively know as "Harvest Festival" if you are an old school fan), you will be gathering ingredients for Franklin, the local chef. In exchange for your help with preparing meals, the cook will reward you with rare items and even furniture for your home.

Here is everything you need to know about the 2021 iteration of Turkey Day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

When Is Turkey Day 2021?

First thing's first, Turkey Day will coincide with Thanksgiving itself. This means that the themed content will land in the game on Thursday, November 25.

The precise timing of the celebration is currently unknown, but you will be able to tell when it is happening because unique music will play, and new decorations will adorn the village. You should also notice Franklin hanging around outside of Resident Services (which is where he set up his kitchen last year).

Turkey Day Recipes, Ingredients and Rewards

Once you find Franklin, he will request that you gather ingredients for him so that he can cook his specialist recipes. While he does give you a list, you will be able to earn bonus rewards by taking some initiative and guessing what secret ingredients he will need to perfect his dishes (he will not tell you about these).

In 2020, the Turkey Day recipes were as follows. We have also included the rewards associated with finishing each of them.

Obviously, there is no guarantee that the exact same recipes will be requested for Turkey Day in 2021 (and that there won't be new rewards on offer) but there will be at least some overlap. When we know for certain, Newsweek will update this article.

In other Animal Crossing: New Horizons news, the Happy Home Designer expansion is now available to download on the Nintendo eShop.
